Emmy Lou Pottery offers private pottery workshops for corporate teams, brand events, retreats, and group celebrations. It can be hosted in our private studio space or we can bring all materials directly to your office, venue, or event space, creating a relaxed, beginner-friendly experience designed to help people slow down, connect, and make something with their hands.

A creative team-building experience designed to bring people together outside of their usual workday. Emma brings the full pottery workshop directly to your office, venue, studio, or retreat space, creating a calming and memorable experience for teams of all backgrounds and skill levels.

Guests will be guided through a handbuilding project such as mugs, trinket dishes, coasters, sculptural objects, or team keepsakes. Each piece is glazed and fired after the event so everyone has something handmade to remember the experience by.

Includes:

  • Up to 30 guests

  • 1.5 to 2 hour guided creative workshop

  • Hosted in studio or travel to your office, studio, event venue, or retreat location

  • All materials, tools, setup, and cleanup

  • Optional workshop theme or project direction

  • Glazing and firing of all finished pieces

  • Pickup or delivery option after firing

A Few Helpful Details

  • Not at all. All workshops are beginner-friendly and designed for every skill level. Emma will guide guests step by step, so everyone feels comfortable creating with clay, even if it is their first time.

  • Guests can create a variety of handbuilt pieces, such as trinket dishes, coasters, small bowls, mugs, sculptural objects, ornaments, or keepsakes. The project can be open-ended or designed around a specific theme depending on your event.

  • Yes. Emmy Lou Pottery provides all clay, tools, materials, setup, instruction, cleanup, glazing, and firing. For off-site events, Emma brings the workshop experience directly to your office, venue, retreat space, or private event location.

  • For most off-site events, you will need to provide tables, chairs, and access to water. If your event requires anything additional, Emma will let you know during the planning process.

  • Most workshops are 1.5 to 2.5 hours. This allows enough time for guests to settle in, learn the basics, create their pieces, and enjoy the process without feeling rushed.

  • Private group workshops typically begin with 8 to 10 guests. Corporate and branded events can accommodate larger groups depending on the space, event format, and project. For larger events, additional support may be recommended.

  • After the event, Emma takes the pieces back to the studio to be dried, glazed, and fired. Once finished, the pieces will be available for pickup or delivery depending on your package and location.

  • Finished pieces are typically ready within 4 to 8 weeks. Pottery is a slow process that requires drying, firing, glazing, and a second firing, so timelines can vary slightly depending on the size of the group and studio schedule. Expediting delivery can be an add on option upon special request.

  • Yes. Workshops can be customized for your group, brand, season, or event theme. Custom options may include a specific project, clay color palette, branded table styling, name cards, signage, gift bags, or a fully tailored creative concept.

  • Yes. Emmy Lou Pottery offers mobile workshops throughout the San Diego area and can travel to offices, studios, event venues, hotels, private homes, retreat spaces, and brand events. Travel outside the local area may be available for an additional fee.

  • Clay is naturally hands-on, but handbuilding workshops are very manageable and easy to clean up. Emma provides the tools and materials needed to keep the experience organized, relaxed, and approachable.

  • To reserve your date, please submit an inquiry with your event date, guest count, location, and any details about the type of experience you are hoping to create. A deposit is required to officially hold your date.
